Can I use a 3g sim card in a non 3g phone?

January 11th, 2010 ~ Posted in: 3g phone

I just recently got a replacement phone (cingular 2125) which is a 3g phone. But i found my old phone (Nokia 6682) and I decided to give the Cingular 2125 phone away to my friend. Well when she puts her non 3g sim card in the phone it works but when i put the 3g sim card in my Nokia 6682 it says that the sim card is not registered. Can I use the sim card in the Nokia or can I only use it in the Cingular 2125?

No, go to a Cingular Outlet store, have them check your sim card, they will replace it for free if the sim card is what’s causing the problem. You may or may not lose all the data saved to the sim card…
