iphone or nexus?help please?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

hi guys,

wanna buy a smartphone, need your opinion
which do you prefer and why?

nexus(google android) or apple’s iphone?or any other?

until more time tested information comes out about the nexus, iphone is the safer bet. as much as i dislike apple its a pretty great phone…with the downside of being on the at&t network which is slow. nexus could be the next great thing though. depends on how soon you are going to purchase. I would keep reading reviews until you are 100% ready to buy. people will most likely soon do a nexus vs iphone review which may help

there is one going on now

Can’t decide on these phones?

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Thinking about getting a new smartphone. Prefer one that’s good for emails, browsing, music and maybe mapping. Don’t really need a good camera as I already have one. The phones I’m thinking of are: HTC touch HD, Apple iphone 3GB (16mb), Samsung INNOV8, Nokia 4800 Xpress Music and Blackberry Bold.
Anyone know which of these are the best.

i would get the iphone 3g or 3gs. you can just go on itunes and download ringtones, music, videos, games, apps(for just about everything!), audiobooks, all that stuff!!! also, if you have t-mobile(like me) you can just unlock your iphone and take it to t-mobile and see if they can put you on that service(just like i’m going to do after i get the iphone) hope this helps you!

iPad / The Apple iPad / español / english c5n

Wednesday, February 17th, 2010

Apple iPad anunciada oficialmente. Todos usamos notebooks y smartphones. Hay espacio para una categoría en el medio, explicó Steve Jobs en la presentación de la iPad que se realiza en el Yerba Buena Center en San Francisco Apple’s finally unveiled the iPad. It’s a half-inch thick and weighs just 1.5 pounds, with a 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen IPS LCD display, and it’s running a custom 1GHz Apple “A4″ chip developed by the P.A. Semi team, with a 10-hour battery life and a month of standby. Apple says there’s room for a third device between the smartphone and the laptop, and that it has to be better at tasks like browsing, email, photos, e-books, and videos than both — netbooks, says Steve, “aren’t better at anything.”

Wanna help me choose a new phone?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Alright guys, I have an ailing iPhone 3G. It’s functional, but not as functional as it should be (The problems: Wi-Fi is pathetically weak, I don’t see networks when my friends get full connection on them; Vibrate out right doesn’t work; battery life is HORRIBLE).

I went to Apple, and due to the fact that the black part of the case was popping out of place (Most likely because when I had the screen on the thing replaced last June, the guy didn’t do a good job at all and left it messed up), they refused to make any repairs on the thing. So I’m stuck with it, for now.

My question is this:
I have enough cash for a 3GS at this moment, and I actually planned to get one tomorrow, until I thought about my other options. I went on macrumors.com and found that Apple has ordered some 5MP cameras for the next generation (4G) iPhone, which got me thinking that maybe I should wait for the 4G, right? Then I realized that Google’s phone, the Nexus One, would be coming out soon too.

The 3GS is only a competitor right now because I could get it, well, right now. I can drive over to the AT&T store and pick myself up a brand spankin’ new 3GS whenever I want for $200 bucks.

Then there’s the Nexus One. From the people who have used them, the One seems pretty nice. A 3.7" OLED screen that’s better than the Droid’s, faster than the Droid, phenomenal battery life, and so on. I might could wait for that to come out and grab myself one of those to hook up to AT&T’s network and use that thing, right? It’s a big contender for my next phone.

Now with the Nexus One coming out, Apple’s gonna have some tough competition in the smartphone market. In order to keep up with the Nexus One, I would assume that Apple is going to come out with some sweet new features and power on the next iphone, presumably the 4G.

So should I be impatient and get the 3GS, be thrifty and slightly more patientand get the Nexus One (Rumor has it that it’ll be $199 unlocked, $99 for people with active and relatively old Google accounts), or show my uncharacteristically amazingly patient self and wait for the iPhone 4G?

I spoke with a Google employee who worked on the Nexus One, and the employee said that it’s going to be about 200 bucks with a contract and 500 bucks without a contract.

The current Nexus One is only going to be able to use the Edge network on AT&T so web browsing is going to be slow if you’re using AT&T’s network. If you have a Wi-Fi network, then it’s not going to matter that much.

You don’t have to be that impatient. Nexus One is rumored to come out on Jan. 5th.

The Nexus already have a 5 MP camera, and it can also take videos. It also has GPS and voice recognition, which is really cool. You can tell it to navigate to an area, and it will appear on the screen.

The Nexus One screen is not that much bigger than an 3GS screen. It’s only 2 or 3 mm bigger. But that OLED screen is so much better than the 3GS screen. The colors are clear, crisper, and sharper. It also refreshes really fast. When you flip from horizontal to vertical, it’s almost instant.

When horizontal, the Nexus One only display correctly if the buttons are on the right hand side. If it’s on the left hand side, it still thinks it’s vertical so the display is rotated. The 3GS doesn’t have that problem.

The Nexus is a little bit more complicated to use because it’s not as organize or as intuitive as the 3GS. With the 3GS, it’s really easy to clear history, searches, directions, etc. With the Nexus, it takes a little bit more time. You’ll be using that back button quite a lot.

Until the Nexus One can use 3GS on AT&T, I would just get the 3GS. But if the next Nexus can use 3GS, then you should get the Nexus. The Nexus really is an amazing phone because it’s so high tech.

Iphone/itouch replacement?

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

Well i have an ipod touch, and im sick and tired of iphone/ apple/ itunes so i want to be able to find a smartphone that does the following…… 8gb, Wifi, Touchschreen, Ebook reader, mp3, email, calender, contacts, maps and weather.

give me your suggestions please,

Wait for the Nokia N97 or get the Nokia 5800 Xpress Music.

Both of them are Nokia Series 60 5th Edition Smartphones (Nokia’s line-up of smartphones) that run on Symbian OS 9.4.

You can get all the stuff you want on it! Remember, a smartphone is USELESS without applications. The phone also comes pre-built with applications such as Office Readers, HTML Browsers, etc. but it would be best to buy more apps for it so you can fully use the smartphone features.

I also recommend waiting for the N97 because it has a higher processing power than the 5800 XM.

Get Paid to Dispose of Your Old Cellular Phones

Tuesday, February 16th, 2010

With the popularity of cellular phones growing, even amongst the younger generation it means there are more in circulation and more being disposed. In fact it is estimated that 1 in 3 Americans alone will upgrade their cellular phone this year, resulting in millions of abandoned phones – many to be thrown in the trash, but if we were to stop and think for a moment these electrical items carry a value to the refurbishment companies regardless of their condition and functioning.

There are many companies that specialize in buying old and used cellular phones for repair and modification to create them into refurbished phones – one such company is the very well known and trusted www.cashforiphones.com. Whether you have an iphone, Smartphone or Blackberry and regardless of its state, working or not they will buy it from you and trade it for cash.

No matter what brand of cellular phone you have Nokia, Ericsson, Apple, Samsung to name a few, the process remains the same and is simple. Just visit their site, get your quote, they pay for the shipping and insurance and then they send you a check. From beginning to end your satisfaction is their main concern and they have a very professional yet friendly approach, and they are very experienced in the phone refurbishing field – in fact they are one of the main leaders in their market making them the best place to go for a fast, trouble free sale of your cellular phone.

The process sounds simple, and it is but the serious part of the entire thing lies behind the trade of the cellular phone in respect of how you benefit and many others also benefit from your simple actions. With over 500 million cellular phones in circulation that are unused it is predicted that more than 125 million will be thrown to the trash, this is set top have a great impact on the environment adding to the vast amount of electronic waste already damaging the planet. And remember each phone that you sell www.cashforiphones.com you will be rewarded with a cash payment – don´t be one of the millions set to throw money in the trash and damage the planet, as I have mentioned trading your cellular is a simple process and should be a serious consideration when you are thinking of upgrading your current phone, or disposing of an already unused mobile.

The two main things to take heed of here are, number one – make sure you gain from your unused cellular phone and the planet remains unaffected and number two – make sure you choose your phone refurbishment company carefully, the highly recommended ‘cashfor’ family is by far the better place to carry out your sale with.
